Les œuvres analysées accentuent la dimension architecturale de la « machine duelle » aux dépens de son utilité pratique comme moyen de transport. Or, l’auto-mobilité qui caractérise la roulotte en bois tirée par des chevaux transpose sa dynamique sur les habitants des maisons roulantes lors de la halte au locus rom. Les protagonistes continuent ainsi un voyage intérieur qui les force à transformer leurs consciences. The article explores the literary representation of the nomadic living-wagon by comparing its significance in the auto-representational œuvres of the sintizze Philomena Franz and Sandra Jayat, as well as in the hetero-representational work of Alain-Fournier. The works emphasise the architectural dimension of the mobile houses as “dual machines” to the detriment of their practical usage as a means of transport. Étapes et locus romani » interroge la sociopoétique de l’étape sous trois points de vue : le voyage, la halte et leur unité. Le corpus se compose des œuvres des deux écrivaines Sintizza Philomena Franz et Romnia Ceija Stojka. Si le voyage sert de mouvement moteur à un art de vivre transporté, le lieu de repos dans la littérature représente une halte idéale, le locus romani, espace verdoyant situé à portée d’une forêt et à proximité d’une eau courante. S’ajoute l’importance de la maison mobile stationnée dans la topographie naturelle pour la production de l’espace romani. La roulotte a fait époque. Elle représente néanmoins un jalon de référence majeure pour l’identité romani construite à travers elle : un vrai patrimoine rom, sous-évalué pour l’instant. Abstract: The article « “Eternity of morning halts on you”. Stages and locus romani » focusses on the sociopoetics of stages in life of romanis, the way travelling and halts are represented in the literary and pictural works of Sintizza Philomena Franz and Romnia Ceija Stojka. If voyaging leads to a mental transport, resourcing relies on a characteristic place. Un ideal halt, the locus romani, is defined by the natural elements of wood, grass and running water in synergy with the presence of verdines (gypsy caravans). The verdines combine mobility and halt and thus play an eminent role in romani life.
