Jean Genet reprend cette image topique de l’homosexuel efféminé, mais en changeant la teneur axiologique de l’efféminement : il accepte l’accusation de féminité, mais choisit quel regard porter sur le féminin. Cet article vise à montrer de quelle manière Jean Genet infléchit la représentation dégradante de l’homosexuel efféminé vers une féminité idéale qui permet de désamorcer le sentiment de honte. Abstract: Homosexual men are blamed for their assumed femininity. Jean Genet represents homosexual men as being effeminate, but he changes the moral value of femininity, so that what was shameful eventually becomes a pride. This paper tries to show how Jean Genet modifies the degrading representation of the feminine homosexual by using the image of an ideal femininity – the homosexual may be seen as a woman, but then he is such a desirable one that no man can resist him.
